Why this site exists
We design and make parts for our own race cars from 3D scans and 3D prints. Finding a usable scan of a specific engine bay, dash or subframe meant digging through general 3D-model sites full of phone stands and figurines, and usually coming up empty.
racecarscans.com is the place we wanted: 3D scans and print files of race car parts, sorted by car and by area of the car, shared by the people who actually build them.
How it works
- Browse for free. Anyone can look through the scans, print files and forums, and spin every file in the 3D preview.
- Create a free profile to download and share. Members can download files, upload their own, post projects and join the forums.
- Every file shows its license. The person who shared it picks how it can be used, and it’s shown right next to the download.
- New uploads are checked before they go public, to keep the site useful and free of junk.
Built with motorsport in mind
Files are organised the way racers think: by make and model, then by area of the car, like engine bay, body and aero, interior, suspension. Scans can list what matters for fitting parts, like the scanner used, its stated accuracy and where the reference point is. Print files can include material and settings notes when the maker wants to share them.
Get involved
The more people share, the more useful this gets for everyone. Share a scan or print file, post your build, or ask for a scan of the part you need.
Join the team
We’re looking for racers, scanner operators and CAD designers who want to help build this up. That could mean checking new uploads, helping out in the forums, scanning parts at events, or writing guides on scanning and printing for race cars.

For scanning and printing companies
Our visitors are people who scan, design and print parts for their race cars. If you make 3D scanners, printers, materials, software or accessories, you can apply for:
- Ad space on the site, in front of people who actually use this gear.
- Product reviews in our Scanner Reviews forum, where members put gear to work on real race car parts.
To apply, email us with the subject “Advertising or product review”. Include your company, the product and a link to it, and whether you’re interested in ad space, a review, or both. Reviews are honest, and paid placements are always clearly marked as sponsored.
Offer a scanning or printing service
Not everyone has a scanner or a printer that can handle race car parts. If you scan cars and parts, print parts, or both, for other people, we’d like to hear from you. We’re putting together a list of service providers members can hire when they need a part scanned or printed.

- whether you offer scanning, printing or both
- where you’re based, and whether you travel to shops, tracks or events
- the scanners, printers and materials you use
- a link to your website or examples of your work
